Uniqlo Tate Play: Rasheed Araeen, Zero to Infinity

Rasheed Araeen’s interactive sculpture Zero to Infinity is brought to life this summer in the Turbine Hall. The work features 400 brightly coloured geometric cubes which people of all ages are encouraged to stack, tilt and balance to create new configurations, so there will always be a new way to play.

Enjoy DJ sets programmed by Global Roots from Femi Koleoso, musical director and drummer for the Mercury nominated Ezra Collective and Gorillaz. Plus Sijya, an electronic musician and graphic designer from New Delhi, performs her new album released on Matthew Herbert's Accidental records.

What changes do you want to see in the world? Join artist Nadina Ali, aka @nadinadidthis, to collage and create your own message and contribute to a giant collaborative manifesto.

Head to an easel, pick up a pencil and sketch the river views from Tate Modern’s landscape to discover how Araeen’s work connected to London’s famous river.

Social Space: Common Ground – Designed by Ronan Mckenzie

Location: Blavatnik Building, Level 2

Designed by multidisciplinary artist Ronan Mckenzie, Common Ground is a place to gather, reflect and relax. Inspired by A World in Common: Contemporary African Photography, Mckenzie hopes Common Ground will ignite ideas and offer a comfortable space to spend time. Choose from a selection of reference books selected by the exhibition’s curator Osei Bonsu, and Ronan Mckenzie, and experience a rich soundscape curated by Alex Rita of Touching Bass, the South London-based musical movement and record label.

Workshop: Feed Me with U:Studio

Location: Natalie Bell Building, Level 4 and Blavatnik Building, Level 4

Nourish your mind and soul by contributing to a collective recipe book. Head to the U:Studio ‘kitchen’ in the Natalie Bell Building to write, sketch, collage and discuss your favourite recipes. Over in the Blavatnik Building, take part in our kitchen quiz and test your knowledge with host Liv Morris from Bourgeois & Maurice.

19.00–19.30 Spatial Justice: Tasnima Uddin, co-founder of Nijjor Manush, and visual artist Saif Osmani discuss the ‘Save Brick Lane’ campaign with Dr Sadia Shirazi, Curator of International Art at Tate Modern.

20.00–20.30 Radical Publications: Rabbits Road Press, the community print studio and publishing press founded by OOMK, discuss what it means to create contemporary radical publications. Hear from Sahra Hersi and Rose Nordin, hosted by Amrita Dhallu, Assistant Curator of International Art at Tate Modern.

21.00–21.30 Play and Participation: Hear from writer and researcher Kylie Gilchrist with Bethany James and Daniela Ghinsberg, students from Central St Martins MRes Art: Exhibition Studies, as they explore play and participation in Araeen’s work.

Workshop: Mirror Mirror with Asma Istwani

Location: Blavatnik Building, Level 6

Join artist Asma Istwani for a making session. Experiment with symmetry and geometry to create your own hanging mobile and mirrored composition.
